Summertime is a favorite for my children and they love being out of school, but tend to say “I’m bored!” in the summer. This summer, we are making a change! Instead of them being on their electronics all the time, we have decided to make it a plan to hit the playgrounds at least a few times a week. We started this yesterday.
I took my son, who is autistic, to the skate park and my daughter to the playground. They had a blast. We never had visited this particular park until yesterday. My son didn’t want to leave the skate and bike area so that his sister could play on the playground area, but we had to take turns since I want to stay with each of them and keep an eye on them.
It has been raining a lot where I live in Indiana and lots of places are flooded and no fishing to be done at the present time and even the beach is flooded out. We decided for a place in which the kids have not ever been to and they love it so much, that we will be returning and start making this place for them to go at least twice a week and to a different playground they enjoy for the third time of the week.
After leaving the skate area, we went on to the playground area of the walkway park so that my daughter could play. She played and then wanted to get some action in on the walk way with her scooter. We live on a country road and do not have pavement for her to use her scooter, so going to the park will allow her to be able to use her scooter as well.
We as a family enjoyed our time out and it was FREE! You can get out with your children too and have fun together. Just watching them and capturing the memories is fun enough for mom or dad. What are your plans at the playground this summer with your children? How will you enjoy your time? Let us know in the comments below.
