Pretreat stains with stain stick, use cold water when possible, fold/hang up laundry immediately from dryer.
Cheryl Rahkonen says
Gee, I don’t know if I have any great laundry tips but one thing I do is pretreat stains and wash the item as soon as I can to keep it from setting in the fabric. My family was terrible about putting wet wash cloths and towels in the laundry basket causing mildew on the other items in the basket. Now I keep a basket for them to hang the towels and washcloths over until they dry and then they are not mixed with the other laundry.
Alyssa Daniels says

If an item gets stained, don’t wait to wash it when you have time. I can always find things to add to the wash to make a full load. And check the stain after you remove it from the wash…don’t just automatically put it in the dryer…learned that one the hard way.
