Sorry to hear that.. I lost my sister almost 4 yrs ago and my father in law 3 yrs ago and my real dad almost 3 yrs ago as well (3 months after f-i-l) then my aunt passed away 2 months after my Real dad and then my uncle (her husband) exactly one yr and 1 day after her and then My step dad passed away in June and my mom just 4 months later in Oct. Lots of deaths in the last few years for my family. Its my first Christmas without mom and step dad and it has been very different without them here for sure.. I hid my feelings from the kids so that they could have a great Christmas. It will never be the same again. RIP to your aunt. Good Luck!

As a child, we would all gather at my grandmother’s house and go to mass on Christmas Eve. Come home and play games until we all fell asleep. I don’t remember giving or receiving a lot of gifts – just spending time together.

My favorite holiday memory occurred when I was in my last year of high school – I finally reconciled with my dad’s half of the family and was completely shocked & humbled by the amount of love they’d shown me.
