Thrifty 4nsic Gal’s 10,000 Fans Mystery Prize Giveaway
I am now approaching 10,000 fans in 7 months time. I wanted to have a giveaway for all of you. Here is what I am going to do. I will be giving TWO fans ONE item for a child. If a person enters and doesnt have any children that is ok. You can still enter and decide if you still want a childs gift to give to someone you know could benefit or just a mystery prize for yourself. This way EVERYONE can enter and still have a chance at winning. I want to be as fair as possible. So here is all I ask, PLEASE be kind and no negativity as I want this to be fun. All you need to do is comment on the post on facebook, so that I have your name as an entry. Tell me what your favorite thing about Christmas is. I love seeing comments about others favorite times. Mine WAS that we as a family would all get together at my mom and dads house and there would be close to 70 of us in one home together playing games together and having a HUGE dinner together. I say WAS, because dad just passed away this past June and my mom just passed away 4 months after dad on October 17th. Mom wanted her family to still have get togethers for Christmas and has her home paid for until the end of the year so that we can all get together and go through pictures and pass them out to everyone. This year has really been hard on me and I miss my mom VERY much. if this giveaway goes well, I am hoping to have another one of these BEFORE Christmas as well.
**I would love for you to let your friends know of the giveaway post on facebook so that they can enter as well.. It is NOT mandatory but the more that have a chance the merrier. Let them join in on the fun and at a chance to have a gift for a loved one or themselves. VERY simple entry. I will end this Giveaway on 11/8 at 11PM. The winners will have 24 hours to claim or a new winner will be chosen. GOOD LUCK!
No purchase is necessary to enter. Void where prohibited by law. The odds of winning are based on the number of entries received Open to US and Canada 18+ only. Winners will be announced and led to Thrifty 4nsic Gal’s Winner list. They will have 24 hours to claim before a new winner is chosen. I am sorry for your loss. I can not imagine what it is like to lose both parents in such a short time.
As for Christmas, when we were kids, we always went to midnight mass. When we got home, Santa had been, stockings were allowed to be opened, and we had a meal before going to bed for a few hours. We were not allowed to open presents until Mom and Dad were up….sometimes it was a long wait!

MY FAVORITE TIME FOR HOLIDAY WERE WHEN I WAS YOUNG IN THE LATE 50’S EAR;Y 60’S. BACK THEN THE GRANDMA WAS STILL AROUND & GREAT AUNTS & UNCLES. EVERYONE WOULD GET TOGETHER AT MY GRANDMAS HOUSE TO EAT, ENJOY & THEN PLAY CARDS. THERE WAS NO TV THEN JUST PEOPLE & TALK. MY DAD WOULD GET OUT THE MOVIE CAMERA & TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYONE THAT WE SAVED FROM A FLOOD 2 YRS AGO. I WAS YOUNG BUT STILL REMEMBER ALL THE FAMILY TOGETHER. I WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO MEET MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER & HAD MY GREAT AUNTS ALL THE WAY TILL MY 20’S. I TOO LOST MY FATHER RECENTLY & MY DAUGHTER & SON IN LAW WENT THRU SO MANY PICS & DID A CD OF TONS OF PICS FOR HIS 2 MEMORIALS. IT WAS WONDERFUL TO SEE ALL THOSE OLD PICS OF EVERYONE THAT HAVE GONE BEFORE US. I HAVE PICS ALL OVER THE HOUSE AS I LIVE IN THEIR HOUSE SO ITS ALL A WONDERFUL MEMORY FOR ME EVERY DAY. What a wonderful tribute to your mom. I lost my mom less than a year ago and this holiday season is especially rough for us, so I know how you feel. I’ve lost both parents and my daughter so all I can say is cherish each moment you have right now, no matter how seemingly insignificant, because you never know when you won’t have the chance again…. Thanks for the giveaway!

I am so sorry for your loss, It was 11 years for my dad on Nov 1st and three for mom on Nov 3rd as well as three for my sister on Oct. 5th. It’s really hard and I will never totally get over it but I try and remember the positive things they taught me like my faith, love unconditionally and always be there for each other as much as you can. It’s the positive things we have to hold onto and never let the love leave our hearts. Praying for you toget through these tough times.

I love watching the little ones open their gifts and squeel with excitement!!! They are so innocent and the whole “Santa” thing is so special for them… The other thing is that we all have breakfast, in memory of my father in law that died on X-mas morning… He always had waffles with strawberries with sour cream & cool whip, and he topped it off with sausages.. This has been accepted by our d-n-laws and their families as well, so we all gather for a great breakfast, watch a new movie that was a gift and take a well deserved late morning NAP!!!

I’m a firm believer that they are still with us, watching over us. <3

We would all get dressed ans head to mass it was a candle light ceremony. I had the honor of singing ave maria and oh holy night a few yrs at this mass as a teen. After mass the familywould return home and have a great time reading Christmas stories. Than off to bed with dad tracking santa and than all the family would wake and open gifts on CHRISTMAS morning damily would comeover for a huge dinner than that evening family would gather singing and playing etc oh how i miss those days. I love EVERYTHING about this entire time of year! My favorite thing, I think(it is so hard to pick one!), is seeing the look on everyone’s faces when they open the gifts! I LOVE to cook and we always have everyone over for an all day Thanksgiving and a 2 day(Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) Christmas FEAST! I absolutely love cleaning the empty dishes because that means that my husband and I did a great job with the meal! Eat and be merry!!!! Also, it seems as if the whole country is a little bit nicer during the holidays, how I wish it would last all year, but I will take what I can get!

I am so very sorry for you loss! My husband lost his mother (she was age 53) 6 months ago (he is 34, and she was my mother in law for 10 years) and this will be our first Christmas without her & the kids not having their grandmother (12 & 8). I would say we enjoy spending time with family is our most favorite this to do at Christmas time & getting together with them but not really sure what this year is going to be like. We definitely cherish the family members still with us (aunts, uncles, siblings, friends & neighbors) but his mother was the one who held the family together & did the Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners & I would help her cook & wrap, so we haven’t planned out any dinners or get togethers yet. We always got around the tree with the kids and read the night before Christmas by the tree with “grandma’s” hot chocolate & that is a tradition she started that I would like to keep going. You will be in my prayers! @frm1mom2another

My favorite thing about Christmas is getting together with my entire family at my brother’s house to have a wonderful dinner and desserts and then watching all of the kids (teenagers too!) open their gifts and seeing their faces full of pure joy! We always have my son and nieces and nephews get together for a family picture to add to our yearly collection so we can watch how much they’ve grown over the years! I lost my Dad last June so I know what it is like around the holidays for you but know he and my Mom who passed away 5 years ago is with us on Christmas day watching us from above!

Cathy C says
My favorite thing about Christmas is spending time with my family. We usually have a big meal together, then sit in the living room floor and play board games. we all end up laughing!
Marg Z says
When it comes to Christmas I become a child again. I can’t wait to put up all of the decorations, bake goodies, buy and wrap presents for my family. Each year we have a huge dinner with both sides of our family. Seeing the excitement in the kids (young and older) eyes as they open their gifts gives me such a great feeling. Two years ago on December 22 we lost my grandmother and she was a big part of our lives. Which has made it harder to get into the Christmas holiday. I think it is even harder when a death occurs so close to a special holiday because you have little time to grieve and the anniversary of the death is marked by the holiday. Merry Christmas to everyone!

Congratulations on 10,000 Fans!!! I am so sorry for your loss of your Mom and Dad! My Mom passed on April 8th and I will never be the same! She was truly my Best Friend, so this holiday season will be very difficult to get through!
My favorite thing about Christmas is on Christmas morning we would all (my 3 sisters and brother) go running in Mom and Dad’s room and jump on the bed and tell them to get up Santa came, They would tell us OK, we are coming!!! It was so crazy and fun all of us opening our presents in this little living room while we watched the Christmas Parade! My Dad was Italian and my Mom Indian and Irish, so we would have homemade raviolas and turkey and dressing and it was so delicious! My Mom and Dad loved Christmas and I will always miss the good times with them during the holidays!!!
